Thank you so much for your prayers and support!!! We had an amazing trip to Mozambique and Swaziland and it was only possible because of you.
We started off in Mozambique. The first day we visited an orphanage and was able to love on the kids, before heading on to the church where we helped feed the kids. I always love when we get to feed the kids but it is also extremely hard when we run out of food before the line ends and we have to turn kids away hungry (which happens on a daily basis). After feeding the kids we had time to just play with them, I was passing out stickers while the rest of the team was doing face paint. You will see in the video I was being mobbed by the kids for the stickers. We spent the second day setting up for the VBS and hanging out with the kids. I met a little boy named Dan (you will see him in a lot of the pictures) he stole my heart from the moment he jumped in my arms and wrapped himself around me. I inquired into whether or not he has a sponsor and found out he was the only kid in the preschool without a sponsor. Their was a mix up in his paperwork and he was never listed, I am now pushing for his paperwork to go through so that I can sponsor him. The third day we did a huge one day VBS where we had over 600 kids show up. We did worship, craft, snack, inflatables, and almost every kid left with a brand new pair of flip flops. The highlight of the day was every kid got to eat that day and to top it off it was chicken (something they do not get very often). On Sunday we attended church at HPC Mozambique, while some shared in adult church the rest of us helped teach children’s church. We had 300 in children’s church and every kid left that Sunday with a brand new HPKids t-shirt. After church I had to tell Dan bye and we headed to Swaziland. When we arrived in Swaziland we had dinner with all of the care point teachers at one of the missionaries house. To see how they have grown was amazing!!!! When I went in 2005 their was about 10 teachers now it’s somewhere close to 75 teachers. Of the original 10 their is about 5 still there, what amazed me is they remembered my name and everything about me and everything we ever taught. At that moment God showed me that we are making a difference. We spent two days in Swaziland putting on a Children’s Conference at the HPC Swaziland Campus. We taught on Worship, puppets, story telling, proper discipline, and games. We had a question and answer time, where they were able to ask us anything and that was very successful. For Wednesday night service we were at HPC Swaziland where a few of us shared during service. After service we had to say our good bye’s because Thursday morning we began our 40 hour trip home!
Through your support you hugged all of these kids, you held Dan in your arms and helped him to find a sponsor, and you trained these teachers to make a difference in the lives of the African kids. You may not realize it but YOU made a difference in Africa. Thank you for your sacrifice!!!!
